A three-day event beginning on Friday, February 13th

MISSION, Texas – The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce wishes to announce the upcoming Mega Winter Texan Fiesta. The Annual Winter Texan Fiesta has gone Mega in 2015, as a special way to celebrate and recognize the Winter Texans staying in Mission and in the Rio Grande Valley.

This year’s Mega Winter Texan Fiesta will be a three-day event beginning on Friday, February 13th at the Shary Municipal Golf Course, 2201 N. Mayberry St. in Mission with a “Fiesta on the Golf Course” beginning at 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  with a “6 Person Texas Scramble”.  The cost for an 18-hole division is $40, which includes food and beverage. Payments must be made at sign-up, starting Monday, February 9th. All Shary Golf Course and GoMission Deal Card Members will receive a discount. For more information please call 956-580-8770.

The Mega Winter Texan Fiesta will kick-off on Friday, February 13th and Saturday, February 14th with a Mexican Artisan Market from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Mission Historical Museum, located at 900  Doherty Ave. and on Sunday, February 15th from noon to 4:00 PM. There will be a vast array of Mexican artisan vendors from all throughout Mexico with many traditional products as well as various culturally charged musical performances including a special presentation by Pancho Villa. Side walk chalk-art demonstrations by various international and local artists will provide visual entertainment and much more.

On Saturday Feb. 14th enjoy an afternoon full of good food from local vendors, live entertainment and a Classic Car show brought to you by Spike’s Ford of Mission. A complimentary meal will be provided by Ace’s BBQ and attendees must pick up their meal ticket in advance at the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce located at 202 W. Tom Landry in Mission starting Monday, February 9th. More tickets will be distributed on Friday, February 13th at the Mission Historical Museum during the Mexican Artisan Market.  These will be the only opportunities to receive the limited number of free meal tickets and this is only while supplies last.

The Greater Mission Chamber wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the following corporate sponsors of this year’s event, Bert Ogden of the Rio Grande Valley, Mission Economic Development Corporation, Royal Technologies, Paramount Citrus, Spikes Ford, Kamper Investments, and the Valley Day & Night Clinic. Many sponsors and vendors will be presenting door prizes throughout the day, so be sure to get your ticket as you enter the Fiesta for the daily drawings. On Saturday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM there will be live entertainment at the Leo Peña Placita Park in downtown Mission across from the H-E-B located at 807 N. Conway in Mission. Rich Bellert will emcee the event and recite his legendary Cowboy Poetry throughout the day. Various genres of entertainment will be featured including, Big Band, Rock & Roll, Country Music and Bluegrass.
